Simply perfect for hens who want to try something different, who are up for a challenge and ready for a laugh! Our potter will demonstrate how and lead you through creating your own thrown pot or bowl in up to 10 minutes on a potters wheel. After throwing, have fun making shapes out of clay to decorate your creation and use glazes to add colour!
Design and decorate your own pottery bunting, using triangles or other shapes such as hearts, birds or cupcakes. We have a great selection of cutters, word stampers and stencils to use. You can also experiment with natural textures, shells or vintage lace and you get to paint or glaze your bunting so it's ready for hanging after firing.
Discover the traditional technique of coiling and make swirly shapes to create a beautiful and personal handmade bowl, using inspiration from this gorgeous coastal area. After making, you can paint the inside of your finished bowl using traditional glazes.
For a bit of fun with our clay party options, you can have a go at our 'Who Can Pull The Longest Handle?' game. Try your hand at the traditional potters technique of handle pulling. This is still used today to add a handle to a mug or jug.
Guaranteed to cause some giggles, although it's not one for the faint-hearted! Probably only suited to over 18's.
Choose from a selection of mugs, bowls and plates and create your own hand-painted design using brightly coloured under-glazes. After painting, we dip-glaze and fire your pottery ready for posting or collection. Other items are available at various prices.
The Practical Stuff:
Wear casual clothing that you don't mind getting messy although aprons are provided. You're welcome to decorate the studio for the party and to bring drinks and nibbles. There is plenty of free parking and we're a five minute drive to RHS Rosemoor - a lovely stop for lunch, cream teas of coffee, before or after your party.
Allow up to two weeks for your pots to be dried, glazed and fired, so they can be collected from us or we can make arrangements for packing and posting, (p&p charge applies).
We have loads of ideas and can create a pottery activity to compliment the theme of your wedding, please get in touch to discuss your ideas. We love to make hen parties special for you!
